Training

Do I need to be trained in how to use the national database?

It is recommended that you do receive some level of training in order to understand how to interpret the data fields, enter the right data into the right fields and use the numerous functions to support the management of your patients.

What training is available?

Training is provided at the University of York on a monthly basis; dependent upon the demand from users. If you would like to attend a course in York, please contact the NACR Helpdesk:

Email: neo500@york.ac.uk
Tel: 01904 321326

We can also offer training 'on site' in different parts of the country. For us to visit you, you will need:

  • At least 15 attendees;
  • A suitable computer training suite with projection facilities for the trainer, and computers for the attendees;
  • Lotus Notes to be loaded to all computers for the training session.

We do not charge for the course itself, but do ask that you cover our travel costs.

If I can’t access the training sessions, are there alternative sources of information available?

Yes, there are three other options that you can access to increase your knowledge and understanding of the national database, these are;

  • Volume 4: REHAB (Cardiac Rehabilitation Application) Guide: this provides a step-by-step guide in how to use the national database and includes screen shots and explanations of all functions
  • DVD: this will provide an interactive step-by-step guide in how to use the national database. This is currently in development, for further information please contact the NACR Helpdesk via email or on 01904 321326
  • Telephone training: The NACR project team provide a helpdesk facility for users that require support. They can arrange a convenient time to go through any issues or specific areas of the database, step by step, over the phone. You can contact the NACR Helpdesk via email or on 01904 321326 and we will arrange a time.
