Evidence based practice and systematic review

The Centre for Evidence-Based Physiotherapy was established by a small group of clinical and academic  physiotherapists. It is based at the School of Physiotherapy at the University of Sydney.
The Centre's mission is to maximise the effectiveness of physiotherapy services by facilitating the clinical application of the best available evidence.

DARE  (University of York. UK) Systematic reviews are identified from a variety of sources and assessed according to a set of quality criteria. For good quality reviews, detailed structured abstracts describing the methodology, results and conclusions are produced. Comments on the overall quality of reviews and their implications for health care are also included. 

Health Technology Assessment (HTA) Database   Health care technology is defined as prevention and rehabilitation, vaccines, pharmaceuticals, and devices, medical and surgical procedures, and the systems within which health is protected and maintained. Technology assessment studies the medical, social, ethical and economic implications of development, its diffusion, and the use of health technology. It informs policy decisions with the aim of improving the quality and cost-effectiveness of healthcare.

The current release contains information on over 42,000 research projects, as well as entries from the Medical Research Council's Clinical Trials Register, and details on reviews in progress collected by the NHS Centre for Reviews and Dissemination.
